20 years ago I used to love painting "little metal men" and playing the very first edition of what was to become the hugely successful Warhammer 40K game, so recently I decided to revisit my youth. So far this has consisted of going out and buying some minis, and then wonderful-wife going out and buying ALL THE MINIS IN THE WORLD, and a selection of paints and brushes. With a couple of hours each weekend to paint them, this is going to take a while. There they sit in the corner now... looking at me... judging me... Anyway, one thing that I've found motivational is the wealth of pictures and "how to" guides on other painters' blogs, so I decided to post some of my own humble efforts here. Hope you like 'em.

1 Year Anniversary - The gang's all here

This blog has been going for a full year now - hope you've been enjoying the pics. So where have I got to in a year? - well... so far we now have a workable small Ork force, a good start on the Marines, and the beginnings of an Eldar force. Not too bad for someone who has a job and a life to be getting along with, but productivity could certainly improve if I try really hard in the coming 12 months. For my stock gaming figures I now intend to improve things like increasing speed without changing the finish too much, and basing. We'll see how it goes...

Finally to celebrate my first year - here's a pic of the whole Eagle Warriors force as it currently stands (click to embiggen):

Right then - back to the painting table I think - got a game planned against my good lady at the end of the month and the buildings aren't finished yet - battle report only if I win!

  1. You should post a battle report anyway! BTW, that is a beautiful Eagle Warriors army... you almost never see these guys represented amongst gamers. The tanks are painted well and everything... holy cow. Clicking follow :D

  2. Thanks mate - so glad you like them!
